Vale
For freelancers

Work with the world,
bank at home

Invoice clients abroad, receive into local account details in your own name, and move the money to your home bank without losing a slice to intermediary fees.

Freelance account

Everything you need to get paid from abroad

No company registration required, no monthly fee, no surprise deductions.

Local details in your name

Give a client in the US a US account number, or a client in Europe an IBAN. To them it looks like paying any local supplier.

Invoices that get paid

Send a branded invoice as a link with the payment details built in, and watch it move from sent to paid without chasing.

No monthly fee

Holding the account costs nothing. You only pay when you convert currency or withdraw, and the cost is shown upfront.

Withdraw the same day

Move your balance to your home bank account over local rails, usually landing the same business day.

Convert on your terms

Keep earnings in USD if you want to, and convert to your local currency when the rate suits you rather than on arrival.

Works from your phone

Check what landed, send an invoice or start a withdrawal from wherever you happen to be working that week.

Getting started

From signup to your first payment

  1. 1

    Sign up and verify

Create your account with your email and complete identity verification with a government ID. Most people are done in under ten minutes.

  2. 2

    Share your account details

Activate the currencies your clients pay in and send them your new local details, or invoice them directly from Vale.

  3. 3

    Get paid and cash out

Payments land in your balance. Hold them, convert them, or withdraw to your own bank account the same business day.

The usual problems

Getting paid across borders should not be the hardest part of the job

  • A wire arrives days late and $40 short with no explanation
  • Your bank converts on arrival at a rate you never agreed to
  • Clients push back on paying an international account at all
  • You cannot tell a client exactly what will land on their side
  • PDF invoices get lost in an inbox with nothing to click

A $5,000 invoice

Sent as a wire

Fees taken along the chain, conversion applied on arrival, and a few days of waiting to find out the total.

Paid into Vale

A domestic transfer into your USD details, held as USD until you choose to convert or withdraw.

Freelancer FAQ

Questions from independent professionals

What freelancers ask before sending a client their new details.

No. Self-employed individuals and sole traders can open an account with a government-issued ID. If you do have a registered business, you can open a business account instead and add your company documents.

Yes, that is the point of local account details. A US client sends a domestic USD transfer, a European client sends to your IBAN. Neither of them needs to arrange an international wire or pay extra to work with you.

There is no monthly fee and no charge for holding a balance. You pay a quoted fee when you convert between currencies or withdraw, and you see the exact rate and amount before confirming.

Incoming local transfers usually appear in your balance the same day they are sent. Withdrawals to your home bank typically settle the same business day, depending on local banking hours.
